Most real electrical work in Ontario requires a notification to the Electrical Safety Authority and an inspection — new circuits, panel changes, EV chargers, hot tubs. We file it as part of every job, and you receive the Certificate of Acceptance for your records and your insurer.
Only a load calculation can say for sure. Older 100A panels near capacity often do — especially with an EV charger or hot tub coming — but if a smaller fix serves you better, that’s the one we’ll recommend. Upgrades typically run $2,400–$4,000 with permit and inspection.
